• SAMO has a dropout rate nine times less than that that of the State average
• 76% of White students at SAMO are “proficient” in skills learned in their English classes, compared with 33% of African Americans, and 38% of Latino’s.
• SAMO students have an average SAT score (in 2006) of 1630.
• 30% of African Americans, and 35% of Latino’s are “proficient” in Science, contrasted with 73% of White students.
• In 2006, 18% more SAMO students were proficient in English/Language Arts than the State average. The numbers for Math are –16%, Science +22%, and History 13%

the National Average was 1518
dont the stats concerning black and latino test scores disgust you at all? maybe this is one issue ASB could work on...
Since it has been brought up, there is also a category for Asians (which we did not include, along with Filipino, Native American, and a couple others).
The Asian "proficiency levels" are rather similar to the white ones, except with slightly higher math and slightly lower english scores.
Sorry for the omissions...
I wonder what this says about the house system that set out to help the disadvantaged kids...
